van der Laan is an independent fashion label exploring the space between fashion and movement.

Born from a background in fashion design and dance, the label focuses on clothing that moves with the person wearing it — rather than restricting them.

We create relaxed silhouettes, considered details and garments designed to be worn, moved in and made your own.

CLOTHING IN MOTION

Movement is at the centre of van der Laan.

The way a garment falls, shifts and changes when the body moves is just as important as how it looks when standing still.

Our pieces are designed with this in mind — combining everyday wearability with silhouettes and details influenced by dance and movement.

THE PERSON BEHIND THE LABEL

van der Laan was founded by Joost van der Laan, a fashion designer and dancer based in Germany.

With a background in fashion design, pattern making and digital design, the label grew from the connection between creating clothing and moving in it.

The goal was never to simply create another streetwear brand.

It was to create clothing that feels natural in motion while still standing on its own as a piece of design.
